Explore God’s handiwork, order, and logic in nature while participating in fascinating hands-on science activities. You’ll discover the world of chemistry, physics, and engineering through new eyes, guided by faculty with years of experience in their fields.
When you arrive, you’ll be placed in lab teams, competing together in experiments and projects with the winning team honored at the closing ceremony.
With access to college-level engineering and science labs and equipment, you’ll have many opportunities to learn and stretch your imagination.
Engineering & Science Camp is open to campers from 14 to 18 years old who have just completed or are entering into grades 9–12.
hands-on experiments in a real-life laboratory setting, and test your projects by employing the scientific method.
yourself to detect the systematic planning evident in each of the scientific disciplines, and see how God is a God of order.
with your teammates and share your personal skills as you analyze and report your team’s discoveries.
However you spend your free time, you’ll be spending it with newfound friends. From climbing the rock wall to cooling off at the ice-skating rink or testing your skills on the FlowRider—it’s all waiting for you.
Kirk Meester graduated in 1991 with a bachelor’s in chemistry and earned a master’s in chemistry in 2023. He worked for nearly 30 years in the pharmaceutical field, specifically in quality control, product development, and analytical method development. During this time, he held positions at several labs including Pfizer, Sterling Drug, and Abbot Laboratories. While working for Abbot Laboratories, Mr. Meester assisted in developing the anti-tumor drug Paclitaxel, currently used in the medical field.
Mr. Meester joined the PCC natural sciences department in 2017 and began teaching chemistry classes. His goal for campers is that they see the light of the gospel as they study God’s intricate creation. He wants to instill a love for science and to teach them that true science and a biblical worldview are not in opposition to each other but coexist in perfect agreement.
Science and engineering faculty from Pensacola Christian College work alongside you all week. They share personal insight and will encourage you to be a light for Christ in the scientific field.
